One 100 Foot
IRIUS offer skilfully crafted wines that go beyond traditional expectations. Our vineyards are in Somontano, a small area in North Eastern Spain near the foothills of the Pyrenees. A combination of careful pruning, to give low yields, long hours of sunshine, for steady ripening of the grapes and night harvesting, when the grapes are cool so they keep all their aromas, give us the perfect concentration of fruit and expressive flavours. The winery’s stunning modernistic architecture stands out in the rolling vineyards. Once inside it is literally 100 Foot down to the bottom, each stage of the wine making is carefully managed, from the harvesting of grapes, through to bottling.
There are four wines in the range:
Tempranillo Syrah 2010 – A mellow wine with strawberry and plum flavours, supple tannins, a hint of coffee and vanilla from the French oak barrels in which it was aged for a minimum of three months.
Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah 2010 – Rich in ripe summer berry fruit flavour, supple tannins and a touch of chocolate and vanilla from the beautiful French oak.
Gewurztraminer 2011 – Crisp, aromatic with tropical fruit flavour and a long finish
Chardonnay 2011 – A crisp, dry wine with pure citrus and peach flavours and a delightful finish.
