Marqués del Mar
Marqués del Mar is a new design that incorporates a classical Spanish name that is easy to say and an image of the starfish, typical of the Mediterranean . It is the same range of wines as Ocho Fuentes but targeted at different markets.
REGION
Denominacion de Origen (DO) Valencia. Continental climate. Large temperature variations between day and night.
Average annual temperature : 13ºC. Chalky, clay soils.
VARIETALS
Tempranillo Merlot (80%, 20%) – The grapes are gently pressed then fermented separately using traditional methods during 10 days at a temperature of between 25ºC and 28ºC. This red wine goes well with the majority of dishes – grilled meats, tapas and rice dishes.
Bobal Merlot Rosé (85%, 15%) – The grape varieties are made separately by cold maceration, gentle pressing and cool fermentation. The result is a rosé that is crisp and fresh with ripe summer berry fruit aromas and flavours. Ideal as an aperitif and to accompany rice dishes, pasta, fish and meat dishes.
Viura Sauvignon Blanc – The grapes are vinified at controlled cool temperatures so that the wine has a aromatic, crisp and fruity flavour. Ideal as an aperitif and to accompany all types of fish, seafood, white meat and rice dishes.
TASTING NOTE
Colour : Bright ruby red, with violet tones.
Aromas : Ripe red berry fruit aromas.
Taste: Smooth with strawberry and blackberry flavours with a long finish
Ideal to accompany roasts, grilled meat, rice dishes, pasta and tapas. Serve at cellar temperature , 14-16ºC or lightly chilled
WINE MAKING
The grape are carefully selected, destemmed and gently crushed, Fermented at 24ºC using selected yeasts.
Matured in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
Marques del Mar comes in 75cl glass bottles with either screwcap or cork. It is also available in 75cl and 1L PET bottles
