Mancico «the old bush vine-man» is the personification of the bush vines from where the grapes for this wine are grown. Sturdy and strong, these vines have to endure all conditions to produce the ripe healthy grapes that become Mancico wines.

Demonimación de Origen (DO)Calatayud. Continental climate. Large tempaerature variations between day and night.

Average annual temperature: 13ºC. Chalky, clay soils.

GRAPE VARIETIES AND TASTING NOTE

Grape varieties: 80% Garnacha – 20% Tempranillo

Colour: Bright ruby red, with violet tones

Aroma: Ripe red berry fruit aromas

Taste: Full bodied, summer berries, peppery, smooth with a long finish.

Ideal to accompany grilled meat, rice dishes, pasta and tapas. Serve at cellar temperature, 14ºC-16ºC.

WINE MAKING

Careful selection of the best grapes of Garnacha and Tempranillo from low yielding bush vines. The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. Each variety is vinified separately in stainless steel tanks. Cold maceration at a temperature between 12 and 14ºC.

Temperature controlled fermentation at 26ºC, guaranteeing that the primary aromas and maintained. Following the malolactic fermentation the wines are blended, cold stabilized and filtered before bottling.
